Description
My OC for the Latins.
Created for fun using history and local stereotypes, no offense meant. If something is incorrect please warn me.
For more Italian OCs go here and for strips involving them go here.
Notes:
Though I called him Latium he represents the Latin people and not the territory over which they lived or their political government.
Latins were divided in many tribes, which I considered Latium's children.
Since Roma's population is Latin, Roma is either his child or his grandchild. Roma likes to claim he's the son of Albanum, Latium's child, which makes him Latium's grandchild.
Latins didn't seem to have a flag, so in the flag's place I placed the pic of a 'urna cineraria' as Latins had a strong sense of religion that made them very respectful of their ancestors.
Roma's relation with the other Latin populations, which apparently were more or less close isn't one of the best at first as Roma is seen like a threat and they joined forces more than once against him. In the end though they were absorbed and Latin became another way to say Roman.
Latium's human name is Lar Latinus Vetus (praenomen, given name, Lar, singular for Lares, the name of the guardian deities of the Latines which means fireplace but also father, nomen, name of the clan, Latinus, which is also the name of his first king, according to the myth, Cognomen that was some sort of nickname, Vetus 'old one')
I couldn't find a fitting quote for him so no quote.

Well, someone did their research. We just finished studying Latium in World History class, and this is all spot on.
