GillyChan's personal list of 5 things that are cool/important/worth to be known about her region, Lazio.

1) So, am I too predictable if I start with Rome? XD Personally I think is an interesting city, in every corner you find something that tells you about its long history, we can say that it has been through every sort of thing... but I don't think there's the need to say too much about this point, right?

2) Then I'd like to mention the coast of Lazio. It 's true that the sea here is not like in Puglia or Sardinia or Sicily but there are cities (such as S. Marinella) that deserve at least to be known for the fact that they were chosen in ancient Rome time by important gentes as summer residences and what else (an example is Anzio, the birthplace of Emperor Nero) and, in some cases, the way in which, in the last century, these centers were practically designed for one purpose (Latina, Sabaudia and many smaller centers are very recent).

3) For the third I should mention that not only the Romans left a significant mark in the culture of the region, but that it had Etruscan influences , for example , found in some centers , now Cerveteri comes to mind but there are others, and going more further in time , the entire region does not have a standardized culture as there are many references to the neighboring cultures , such as the Tuscan influence in the north , to the south that bell , on that of the Abruzzi Apennines . So , in summary, Lazio is not only Rome , which is what many non Lazio of Rome often complain

4) As fourth point I choose Lazio cuisine... There are so many good recipes and the best part is that many of them were born as simple recipes, made ​​with what was considered "leftovers" (coda alla vaccinara, for example) and that over the times have come to stand out as typical dishes. Maybe it's trivial, I don't know... But I think that the culture and the experience of a people pass through its recipes

5) Last but not least, the friendliness, the "caciarona" (noisy) cheerfulness and the spontaneity of the people. It is true that it is said that the people here did not want to do anything... I think, however, that more than this, it's the fact that the people has a serene soul, that does not worry too much about every little thing. Unfortunately, in recent times we had been forced to speed up more and more and the thing stresses us (with an extra amount of confusion in street traffic and what else), I think this is not the pace that is fitting for us... because life is one and it is better to enjoy it, isn't this true?

La lista di GillyChan di 5 cose che sono toste/importanti/meritano di essere conosciute riguardo la sua regione, Lazio.

1) Allora, sono abbastanza prevedibile se comincio con Roma? XD Personalmente credo sia una città interessante, in ogni angolo trovi qualcosa che ti parla del suo lungo passato, possiamo dire che ne ha passate di tutti i colori... ma non credo serva dilungarsi troppo su questo punto,giusto?

2) Poi mi piacerebbe menzionare il litorale laziale. E' vero che il mare qui non è come in Puglia o in Sardegna o in Sicilia ma ci sono centri (come S. Marinella) che meritano almeno di essere conosciuti per il fatto di essere stati scelti già nell'antica Roma da gentes importanti come residenze estive e non (un esempio per tutti è Anzio, città natale dell imperatore Nerone) e, in alcuni casi, per il modo in cui nell'ultimo secolo questi centri siano praticamente stati progettati per uno scopo (Latina, Sabaudia e molti centri minori sono molto recenti).

3) Per terzo vorrei ricordare come non solo i romani lasciarono un'impronta significativa nella cultura della regione, ma che essa ebbe influenze per esempio etrusche, riscontrabili in alcuni centri,ora mi viene in mente Cerveteri ma ce ne sono altri; e andando più in là nel tempo, l'intera regione non ha una cultura uniformata perché sono presenti molti riferimenti alle culture limitrofe, ad esempio a nord l influenza toscana,a sud quella campana,sull appennino quella abruzzese. Insomma, in sintesi, il Lazio non è solo Roma, che è quello che molti laziali non di Roma lamentano spesso

4) Come quarto punto scelgo la cucina laziale... Ci sono così tante buone ricette e il bello è che molte di esse sono nate come ricette povere, fatte con quelli che erano "avanzi" (coda alla vaccinara, ad esempio) e che col tempo sono arrivate a distinguersi come piatti tipici. Forse è banale, non so... Però penso che la cultura e le esperienze vissute da un popolo passino anche per le sue ricette

5) In ultimo, ma non per importanza, la simpatia, l'allegria "caciarona", la spontaneità della gente. È vero che si dice che qui la gente non abbia voglia di fare nulla... secondo me però più che questo, è lo spirito sereno che la gente ha, quel non preoccuparsi troppo di ogni minima cosa. Purtroppo negli ultimi tempi siamo costretti a velocizzarci sempre di più e la cosa ci stressa (con annesso casino nel traffico e non), secondo me questo non è il ritmo che far per noi... anche perché la vita è una ed è meglio godersela no?
